Thursday 20th March 2008 saw the majestic steeple rise up and delivered to the top of the chapel. The steeple is covered with copper and crowned with a cross.

On the first day of 2008 "John Gollan Day" was enjoyed by more than 10,000 people who once again  flocked to Harrington.

Once again the Coastal Patrol Markets were a huge success and were enjoyed by all the  people who attended, with the variety of stands bigger and better than previous years.

The music and entertainment down by the breakwall was once again outstanding.

The fireworks were heralded in by the haunting sounds of the "Lone Piper" on top of Pilot Hill. The fire work display was also bigger than last year with never before seen exhibitions set of under the watchful eye of  Mr Geoff Howe. Many thanks to Geoff and his team for the spectacular display.

The new Coles Supermarket has opened its doors at the "Harrington CommunityVillage" 1-7 Caledonia Street, in the Harrington Waters Estate.

Mayor Eddie Loftus was on hand to cut the ribbon and the town Crier declared the shop open. Other shops in the centre that are open include De Bonos cafe, Harrington Bakery, $2 Plus Shop, Harrington Video, Shades 2000 & New Vision Realty.. Holiday Coast Credit Union will open its door next week.

Social golf ladies ended 2007 with a fun day at the Harrington Waters Golf Club playing a 9 hole ambrose with some unusual challanges.

Some of the twists were:

• A Left Handed Driver to be used on the first hole.
• Blindfold putting
• Crazy putting
• Driver, iron, putter on the 4th
• And home to a sweeping finish, "putting with a broom"

The Harrington Waters Shopping Village is going ahead on schedule. The Shops, Community Centre & Library are all up to the roofing stage and the awnings are being put on the shop fronts.

The footings have been laid for the chapel and the car park facilities are under way. Everything is looking great.

Wednesday the 14th November was the day we have all been waiting for. Harrigans Irish Pub opened its doors to an eager crowd.

Harrigans is situated on the beautiful Manning River in The Harrington Waters Estate. Open 7 days and offering a great bistro menu, fine wines, great beer and entertainment it is the place to be.
